Lapsang Souchong is a smoked black tea from China, rich in flavor and an intense, smoky brew that is considered a unique treat.

Smoked over natural fur tree root, the tea is reminiscent of an oak fire. Lapsang Souchong tea comes fro the Fujian province of China. The word 'Souchong' means subvariety - a reference to the other teas from the region. Tradition records that the smoking process was discovered by accident - in an attempt to dry the tea leaves faster so that they could be brought to market on time.
