Darjeeling tea is one of the many legacies of the British Empire. First cultivated some 150 years ago by a civil surgeon named Dr. Campbell in the Darjeeling region of India, some 7000 feet above sea level, the tea became a commercial success in large measure to the state sponsored nurseries that produced the tea seedlings in commercial quantities. By 1874, Darjeeling teas became commercially profitable.

Darjeeling teas are known as the champagne of Indian black teas, in part because they are grown at great altitudes, producing a lighter, more refined tea flavor with as sweet and floral aroma.

Mighty Leaf Tea was born for the sole purpose of infusing life into an ancient indulgence by creating tea products that reach new heights of quality and innovation.
